Attendant Care
Services
Attendant Care services are designed to assist individuals with developmental disabilities by providing support for personal care tasks that they cannot perform independently. This includes activities such as feeding, toileting, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
There are two variations of this service:
-
Attendant Care: Provides hands-on assistance with personal care tasks.
-
Attendant Care Supervision: Offers constant supervision for individuals who cannot be safely left alone, without involving personal care tasks. This service can be utilized while parents are at work, unlike respite care services.
Attendant Care services are available to individuals of various ages and disabilities who meet the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) qualifying criteria, following a needs assessment by a support coordinator. The number of approved service hours is based on this assessment. To qualify for funding, individuals must be approved through Arizona Long Term Care Services (ALTCS).
